l33tspeak
l33tspeak (or l337sp34k) is the unofficial slang language used on-line by countless netizens, primarily gamers. It basically involves substituting numbers for letters, but there's a more or less established set of linguistic rules to turn phrases like "you suck!" into "you are teh sux0r!" and "fear my awesome skills" into "ph34r my l337 sk1llz". The word l33t (or "l337") is slang for "elite", and it's the adjective that typifies the entire language. Only the elite know what is being said, and only the elite know how to say it. Are you l33t enough?
